Chamber Information Center
The Chamber Information Center now has summer hours! The building is open
Monday through Friday 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM and hopefully, Saturdays from 9:00
to 3:00. We are looking for volunteers so that we can open the building on
Saturdays this summer. The volunteer would work along with the two RSVP volunteers
to provide directions and give information on things to do and places to go
to the many visitors who stop by during the summer months. If you like people
this is the job for you. Visitors are from all corners of the U. S.and many
are international visitors. All have fascinating stories.
Due to the expansion of Wal-Mart the Chamber Information Center will be moved
this summer. We will be closer to Route 2 and the westerly entrance to Wal-Mart.
The good news is that once moved we will be connected to sewer and water making
it possible to have restroom facilities for the staff ~hurrah! There will
be some costs associated with the move so the Chamber may have to do a Capital
Campaign to raise a little money.
This building is one of your benefits of membership. It is a place for you
to display brochures about your business and leave business cards for visitors.
If you have new or up-dated materials please get them in during work hours.
If you have counter space available in your business, the Chamber has a new
tri-fold brochure that lists the benefits of membership and includes a membership
application. The Chamber "Guide to the Sebasticook Valley Area"is
available for you to pass out as well. This booklet is filled with information that
every resident and visitor will find useful. Give us a call at 368-4698 if
you're interested in promoting the Chamber and the region.

Advertising in "The Chamber News"
The Chamber is looking for support from its members through advertising
sales to stretch our newsletter budget. We are offering advertisements to
offset cost. As you will see in our newsletter, we have many businesses that
are regular advertisers.
Some of the advantages for advertising in The Chamber News are:
· Direct marketing to selected business people.
· Advertising hard-to-find supplies or items that directly interest
your targeted readers.
· Classified ads
· Your own ad
· Ads swapped for other services.
The Chamber News is published in January, April, July and October to keep
Chamber members and potential members aware of activities and events. It is
a publication for the membership filled with success stories and profiles
of members businesses. A community calendar, list of the current paid membership,
an application for membership and invitations to Chamber meetings and seminars
are also included. 300 copies are printed with each Chamber member receiving
one. The additional copies are sent to potential members as a marketing tool
and to individuals who have expressed interest in the happenings of the Chamber.
